Inspired by a drawing created by the late naval architect Frederick Ford, DREAMBOAT began as a discovery from a stack of family archives, found by his daughter. Determined to fulfill her father’s dream, she committed to bringing his vision to life. Naval architect Donald Blount, in collaboration with the Van Dam Custom Boats design team, transformed Fred’s original 1971 sketch into the plans for DREAMBOAT.
At 39 feet, DREAMBOAT is capable of outpacing and outperforming much larger vessels. Her twin Volvo IPS drives generate 600 horsepower, allowing her to cut effortlessly through the waves of the Great Lakes. A joystick system makes her incredibly nimble and intuitive in close quarters, while a Seakeeper stabilizer eliminates boat roll for a smooth ride on open water. Featuring a cutting-edge Garmin electronics and lighting package, along with the customizable CZone system, she offers an unmatched combination of innovation and functionality.
DREAMBOAT is a testament to ingenuity and inspiration. With every journey, she carries on Frederick Ford’s dream, immortalized in her timeless design and extraordinary craftsmanship.
