He sought a vessel that embodied the traditional lines and timeless beauty of classic sailing yachts, paired with the performance and ease of a modern design—one that could be sailed single-handedly. To achieve this, Henry Scheel developed the hull lines and incorporated his patented keel into the underbody. Van Dam Custom Boats was entrusted with bringing PATRICIAN to life, giving Steve Van Dam the opportunity to showcase the exceptional skill and craftsmanship honed over more than twenty years of boatbuilding.
